F-Secure Web Trail Beta Program

ProcessTamer – Kotisivut – Apajalla

Tuppaako tietokone jumittumaan eri ohjelmien rohmutessa ylenmääräisesti tehoja? ProcessTamer on pieni ilmaisohjelma, joka pakottaa tehosyöpöt ohjelmat laskemaan kulutustaan koneen kestämiin määriin. Ohjelma antaa säätää sekä ala- että ylärajan huomioidulle tehonkulutukselle sekä määrätä kriittisiä prosesseja rajoitusten ulkopuolelle. Ohjelma väläyttää viesti-ikkunassa rajoitetun prosessin nimen aina kun rajoituksia käytetään, jotta käyttäjä varmasti tietää, mitä tietokoneella tapahtuu.

 

Ubuntu Tweak – kotisivut

Ubuntu on käyttäjäystävällisen Linux-jakelun maineessa, mutta helposta voi aina tehdä vielä helpompaa. Ubuntu Tweak on yksinkertainen räätälöintityökalu, joka tarjoaa näppärän ja keskitetyn tavan viritellä käyttöliittymä- ja kansioasetuksia. Ohjelman kautta voi laatia asetuksia cd-polttoon ja virransäästöön, piilottaa tai muuttaa ohjelmien splash-ruutuja sekä lukita työkaluja tietoturvan parantamiseksi. Edistyneet käyttäjät suoriutunevat tästä muutenkin, mutta etenkin uusille Ubuntun käyttäjille ohjelma on oikotie toimivampaan työpöytään.

The Poor Mans Steadicam by Johnny Chung Lee

Steadycams (or camera stabilizers) are attachments used to capture smooth looking video even when the camera and camera operator are in motion. The camera operator may walk (or even jog), move through tight hallways and doorways, and even climb up and down stairs without shaking the camera. Unfortunately, professional steadycams cost around $1500. Even the cheap 3rd party ones cost $600+. Not exactly a bargain considering many of us use cameras in that price range. So, I decided to make my own version. It turns out, it only costs $14. Not too bad. And I'll show you how to build your own right here (or you can buy a ready-to-use steadycam from me through this website [littlegreatideas.com]). Whether you are an aspiring filmmaker, a videographer, the family documentarian, or just want more utility out of your video camera, you'll appreciate a steadycam.

Dreambox on valtaosalle varsin tuntematon laitemerkki. Perinteisesti Dreamboxeja on ollut saatavilla ainoastaan satelliittivastaanottoon. Sittemmin valikoima on laajentunut antenni- ja kaapeliverkkoihin, mutta laitteiden ohjelmistot ovat olleet niin keskeneräisiä, etteivät ne ole soveltuneet suomalaisten digilähetysten katseluun.
